Though the consequence of demonetization, announcement of a new dry state and the recent Supreme Court decision to ban liquor shops within 500 meters of national and state highways has been damaging to the growth of booze industry in India, as per the latest reports, some brands have managed to garner awesome results so far.

Increasing consumption of alcohol in India is just a fresh spectacle. Before 1960s the major cities like Mumbai and Delhi didn’t permit alcohol to be served even in five star hotels. Only foreigners were allowed to indulge in their favourite imported tipple whereas the Indian drinker had to count on the Navy canteen supply.

It contains no carbohydrates and fat. As Indian have been becoming more health-conscious, this is a clear reason behind the increasing consumption of rum and other alcohol elements.

India as one of the rapidly growing economies in the world with impressive GDP is also pushing this trend mounting. There has also been an increase in terms of the influx of premium and super-premium brands in country. Several world-renowned brands are now foraying into Indian market that seems very promising.

1.    Promotes cardiac health
Similar to vodka, rum is a blood thinner and can avert peripheral artery diseases. Rum can augment good cholesterol, also called HDL cholesterol, and battle artery blockages, helping to stop heart attacks and heart disease.

2.    Manages muscle pain
Stronger bones result into stronger muscles. Rum is found to help prevent and combat minor muscle pain.

3.    Wade of common cold

Due to its underlying antimicrobial properties of alcohol, rum included, rum can be used to help combat the general cold.
